Workshop organized by Dr. Brendan Röder (CAS Researcher in Residence/LMU).
Historians working on a specific city regularly encounter documents exchanged between urban centers – such as guild regulations, ordinances, infrastructural plans or even constitutional documents – but rarely place them at the center of analysis. This workshop does exactly that and focuses on the themes, actors, and functions of exchange between cities across a broad chronological range.
Participants include Edda Frankot (Utrecht), Felix Grollmann (LMU), Christian Manger (Tilburg), Anna Mazanik (Max Weber Stiftung, Bonn), Maarten Prak (Utrecht), Andrew Wells (Kiel).
Brendan Röder is CAS Researcher in Residence during the summer semester 2026.
A registration is required. For more information, please visit the CAS website.
The Center for Advanced Studies at LMU provides a forum for scientific exchange and discussion that bridges the divide between the established disciplines. Its activities are designed to promote all forms of collaborative research and to stimulate interdisciplinary communication within the University. In addition, it facilitates the integration of visiting scholars and scientists into the academic life of the University.
